Radio Killer

More new shit swiped from The Fader. They're both dope, what can I say? Tricky Stewart's got two serious bangers on his hands with this and "Single Ladies".

The Dream - "Let Me See That Booty"

Bailout Plan

New Rich Boy, produced by the the dude that produced "A Millie" that is not Bangladesh. Polow is hilarious.

Texas Toast

Apparently people read this blog, so to make up for the lack of updates, I made you a mixtape. Muxtape is in the RIAA-clink, so I could only put eight songs on it. These are all dudes out of Texas, mostly Houston. Eat it up, Texas style. Shouts to Flip at Fader for putting me on to Big Chief [read their Dallas Rap story here].

Trigger Trey Songz

I know everyone is sick of Paper Planes and its' various remixes, but I have to post Trey Songz' rendition. The best part is how he flips the "MIA, third world democracy" shit.

I Know I Said I'm Not Stealing Posts

But when it comes to Face, there are no rules.

By the way, the Eddie Kendricks song he plays is "Intimate Friends".

Bombs Over Hollywood

Augor is an MSK writer out of LA, and is most well-known for his work on movie billboards. Check out the video of him hitting a "Dark Knight" billboard around 1:37.

The “Hollywood” sign is dirty and dated in those distant hills. Now, masses of bleached tipped bitches and high school prom queens swarm LA with dreams of big screen stardom and hopes of securing a spot on one of Hollywood’s prestigious towering billboards. However, Mid-City, Los Angeles, native Augor prefers to bypass casting couches and demonstrate upward mobility on his own two—climbing and painting his way to some of the most coveted real estate in the country. Augor, who is “old enough to go to jail and be roomed with rapists and drug addicts, but not old enough to drink,” started writing in the late ’90s. Since, he has developed a style which he describes as, “[surrealist] H.R. Giger-meets-Candy Land. I try to make my letters very anthropomorphic, giving them life like qualities that turn the piece not just into a fresh name but a giant creature looking down on his prey perched on a five-story ledge.” In 2003, Augor began painting on movie billboards, molding it into the pre-existing artwork. “The smooth canvas surface, trying to adapt my art into the advertisement and having both compliment each other has been a challenge I have become addicted to completing over and over,” he says about his neck straining pieces. And in the land of LAPD helicopters and film industry money, jumping down two stories and cracking your head open comes with the territory. He’s not above the law, but Augor flies high like a real black superman.

All Up In A Trance 3.0

Khao slowed up Crystal Waters' 1991 house hit, "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)" to make TI's panty-removal-aid, "Why You Wanna'". Dudes that produced the Waters song are none other than the legendary house production team, The Basement Boys, three cats from Baltimore that changed the dance / house music scene with their style that was influenced by and influenced Club music.

Let My Hands Do The Talking

Sooooo so so fresh. RIP Robert Davis. I think I saw this at CocaineBlunts a while ago.

Bang Hard Like Them Drums All Day

As you will find out; I'm from Baltimore, and I love me some Blaqstarr. I interviewed dude for Mass Appeal's cooking column a couple months ago, and he was truly humble and nice. I will definitely be posting interview outtakes and video once I figure out how to expand posts. Blogging 101, I know. In the meantime, check out this new(ish) track by the homie. 410 stand up!

Salty Crackers

I'll also try and keep this blog as apolitical as possible, 'cause honestly, anyone that reads this is probably an Obama supporter or at least anti-Republican. And if you're not, fuck off. But the racist undertones of McCain and his stans are fucking ridiculous. Everyone has seen the videos of dudes calling Obama a terrorist and whatnot, but some dude in England got shot for wearing an Obama t-shirt. Read the full story here. Spotted at Complex.

However Do You Want It

I'll usually refrain from just posting a song on it's own, but I am feeling this shit. JR Rotem is no joke.

The One & Only S-T-A-T

Stat Quo is one of the coolest cats I've had the opportunity to meet in this crazy industry. He gave me pizza and ginger ale. Apparently, he's got a new mixtape dropping on 10/23, so look out for that shit. Even though this freestyle is mad old, I'm gonna post it anyway. 'Cause I do what I want.

Once Upon A Time...

I worked for a real publication and did real journalist-type work. As JT would say, those days are dead and gone, and now all I have is this blog. And I still don't know how to make expandable posts. I'll be putting up some articles from my favorite magazine of all time, even before I started interning there, Mass Appeal. Get familiar, bitch.

All Up In A Trance 2.0

Not really feeling this song, but I fucks with Young Wizzo (sans autotune) and I love the Alice Deejay joint that it samples. No homo / eurotrash.

Alice Deejay - "Better Off Alone"

All Up In A Trance

Ain't nothing like techno / trance music to get you through a NYC subway commute in the morning. The trance sample craze in hip-hop is off the hook right about now, and I'm loving it. These dudes from Huntsville, Alabama (a state that is putting out some of the nicest rap music out there right now), have composed an ode to double stacks that samples this Italian fella's trance song. Dope.

Jackie Chain ft. Jhi Ali - "Rollin'"
